Oztrack Tuning Facebook Oztrack Tuning is one of the leaders in the field of Tuning Gen III/IV engines worldwide. In Australia this we specialize in VT-VE Commodores & HSV with LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, L98, L76 & L77 engines. We also tune numerous Corvette's, Camaro's & G8's worldwide even with the LS9. We also tune race engines & will soon be tuning the new Holden Cruz & some some of the V6 Holden engines since the VZ.

The aim is to provide a service within the budget of regular car owners not just enthusiasts that race their vehicles.  All of our activities are willingly explained to the customer, and some are even given an introduction to the use of the EFILive Tuning system.  Our aim is for our customers to enjoy the overall experience & understand why the end result was like it was. Its is about truly enjoying the money spent & being satisfied with the outcome. Over the years we have been involved with a huge range of projects& will give accurate honest advice on what is worth doing & what is not, when it comes to matching your desires for the car.

 In October 2012 Oztrack Pty.Ltd. was invited to become part of the Walkinshaw Performance team. We are now a Tier 1 Reseller which means we can arrange for the completion of work to maintain full factory warranty when it meets the Walkinshaw Guidelines. Customers with near new and new cars can have the parts fitted, the car tuned and maintain their Holden driveline warranty officially.This includes customers choosing the new WP230 Supercharger which is using technology already very successful in the ZR1 Corvette.  Finance is also available for customers to use when purchasing the WP range of items.

 

 We are also the primary Australian Reseller of the EFIlive Digital Tools for onboard vehicle electronics.  This brand offers market leading scanning and tuning software.

Oztrack Tuning also provides a leading Gen III/IV enhancement service, we arrange the installation of everything from Duspeed OTR's, Cam upgrades to new Whipple Superchargers & ASE Turbo kits.

Oztrack's Clubsport was the NSW Season Champion in 2005/2006 in "Super Street" Drag Racing at Sydney Dragway it ran a best of 10.9/123mph.This car could accelerate 0 - 160kph in 7.0s and could still get under 10L/100km cruising at 110kph on the motorway. So we certainly know what to do to get maximum performance from these vehicles.

Autocal Remote Tuning

Past Customers

Oztracktuning can now offer Autocals to its customers at discount prices including remote setup. Please email us for details. This will enable us to remotely update past customers tunes conveniently. Tunes done for our customers can only be adjusted or updated with autocals linked to our Flashscan V2 unit.



 New Remote Customers
We will also be offering the opportunity for Remote Tune customers to purchase an autocal to keep. The details are below.

Remote Tuning Service for VE Gen GenIV V8 range Holdens & HSV with A6 gearbox & aftermarket camshaft.

This includes an EFILive Autocal device for you to keep. It can tune up to 8 cars. It has 1 licence on it initially & extra licences are sold for near AU$110 by Oztrack Tuning.

  1. The autocal device can read the tune from the vehicle without a laptop with just a few clicks. The autocal is then plugged into your internet capable PC and the tune file emailed or accessed by Oztrack Tuning via remote connection.
  2. The new updated tune file/s are then transferred to autocal and you are then able to flash the changed file/s into your car.
  3. The cars performance can then be data logged using autocal and then also transferred to Oztrack Tuning via email who are then able to customize the tune settings based on logged data.
  4. This process of logging and adjusting is repeated until the cars performance is optimized.
  5. You can then use autocal to perform convenient updates via oztracktuning, You can also diagnose and clear trouble code with the autocal.

The end result of these custom tunes is usually at least as good as an in person custom tune.

We have been doing remote tunes worldwide now for a couple of years, the system i have setup is very polished and quick. Most people who have experienced the system are amazed and enjoy the process.

Worldwide Remote Tuning Support

Oztrack Tuning is now able to provide remote tuning support to anyone worldwide that has a broadband internet connection.

 The software we use allow us to control the customers PC/Laptop with our keyboard & mouse while we are able to talk on the phone. We can install software updates, as well as setup optimal parameters to tune any variety of supported vehicle including the logging parameters, data charts etc.  We can then explain what to do with the tune calibration via the phone and demonstrate what we are talking about virtually as good as we were there with customer.

We have tuned numerous cars remotely while they are on the dyno.

Base Tunes can be purchased for $400 with 1hr of  remote support specific to the tune. Extra hrs live are AU$150/hr. Forced Induction Base Tunes are extra. These base tunes are our best starting point for a good tune and are custom designed for each situation base on the information that is given. They are also the quickest way to learn how to tune the car really well.

The most popular base tunes are speed density (mafless) tunes on LS1s. We have trained numerous workshops how to do this properly so that fuel economy is optimized along with the extra smooth power delivery that is gained from a speed density tune.

Over the past 4 years since the release of the Gen IV/E38  we have developed a highly regarded specialty in tuning the new E38 ECMs which are used in the later model VE Commodores, Pontiac G8, Camaro and Corvettes. These are far more complex than LS1s and more mathematical to do well.

AUTOCAL REMOTE TUNING ORDERS

 
VT-VE Gen III/IV Dual Timing Table Mafless Tunes

This is our most popular choice of tune and usually results in a considerable gain in performance and overall fuel economy.

Dual timing table mafless tunes are now available for cars with the VT - VE Gen III./IV  engines at a price of just $550.  If its an Auto 6 spd this can also be tuned for better shifts for an extra $150

These are done using a new custom operating system made by EFILive. The usual Mafless tunes which are based on the VT-VY HSV GTS tunes calibration are only able to have the lower timing table as active. This gives less ability for the engine to be protected from regular low level knock. The use of an upper and lower timing table provides the added benefit of the car being able to learn its way upward and downward rapidly between the two spark timing tables adding engine protection and also better performance in varying conditions.

 The Custom Operating system also has added tables;

  • Improved  temperature correction of the air fuel ratios.
  • The ability to specify air fuel ratios at any rpm and manifold pressure.


  
The Base Tunes have been optimized for much more than just wide open throttle. They also contain some special calibrations that usually provide a considerable improvement in mid range power and fuel economy. 


A recent customers LS1 Manual made 255rwkw (317 engine kw) on a dynolog dyno with one of these upgrades.
Pretty good for a LS1 with an over radiator intake, ported throttle body and metal cats. Still having the stock balancer and stock valve springs.  The car has also been returning great fuel economy. Better than 30MPG on a trip.

A customer Peter did 12.98/108mph in his VY SS auto at WSID, its only modifications to support the tune was that it had an over radiator intake and a good exhaust system. It even had the standard diff gears.  His son Steve beat his dads time with a 12.63/111mph in his VZ 4 speed auto LS1 stock cam, stock converter. It just has 3.9s, full exhaust and an over radiator intake.Recently both Peter and Steve have changed the cams in their cars and are both regularly in the 11.6s/116mph standard.

The fuel economy record on our basic mafless tunes is 816km to a tank. Paul from Gosford did this in his VY SS ute which is a M6. Its was around 8.2L/100km for the trip from Gosford to Canberra and back, to of all things the Canberra Summernats.
Many of our customers cars can get in the 8s/100km M6 or 9s/100km A4 on a trip and we also have some inner city customers who have reduced their fuel economy from 20L/100km to 13L/100km.

 

VE Commodore Gen IVs all gain heaps in their throttle response and part throttle torque meaning 6th gear can be used at a lower speed and they improved in economy. They also gain on the dyno by around 20kw at the wheels from just the tune.  We have seen a few L98 270kw VE manuals make 289 kw at the wheels from minimal mods including a full exhaust upgrade and a quality over the radiator intake from Duspeed.  The same gains are apparent in L98, L76 and LS3.  We have seen stock cammed LS3s tuned to make as much as 311rwkw and our own Grange is making 302rwkw as an automatic while still retaining the stock camshaft.

We also have done numerous AFM equipped L76s and can advise on smart exhaust mods for them. They are able to be tuned to improve even further in economy because we tune them specifically in AFM mode in addition to the performance adjustments.
