Autocal Remote Tuning
Past Customers
Oztracktuning can now offer Autocals to its customers at discount prices including remote setup. Please email us for details. This will enable us to remotely update past customers tunes conveniently. Tunes done for our customers can only be adjusted or updated with autocals linked to our Flashscan V2 unit.
New Remote Customers We will also be offering the opportunity for Remote Tune customers to purchase an autocal to keep. The details are below.
Remote Tuning Service for VE Gen GenIV V8 range Holdens & HSV with A6 gearbox & aftermarket camshaft.
This includes an EFILive Autocal device for you to keep. It can tune up to 8 cars. It has 1 licence on it initially & extra licences are sold for near AU$110 by Oztrack Tuning.
The autocal device can read the tune from the vehicle without a laptop with just a few clicks. The autocal is then plugged into your internet capable PC and the tune file emailed or accessed by Oztrack Tuning via remote connection.
The new updated tune file/s are then transferred to autocal and you are then able to flash the changed file/s into your car.
The cars performance can then be data logged using autocal and then also transferred to Oztrack Tuning via email who are then able to customize the tune settings based on logged data.
This process of logging and adjusting is repeated until the cars performance is optimized.
You can then use autocal to perform convenient updates via oztracktuning, You can also diagnose and clear trouble code with the autocal.
The end result of these custom tunes is usually at least as good as an in person custom tune.
We have been doing remote tunes worldwide now for a couple of years, the system i have setup is very polished and quick. Most people who have experienced the system are amazed and enjoy the process.
We are now offering a special on the installation of top quality OTRs and a mafless dual timing tune together, the prices depend on the model of the car.

Worldwide Remote Tuning Support
Oztrack Tuning is now able to provide remote tuning support to anyone worldwide that has a broadband internet connection.
The software we use allow us to control the customers PC/Laptop with our keyboard & mouse while we are able to talk on the phone. We can install software updates, as well as setup optimal parameters to tune any variety of supported vehicle including the logging parameters, data charts etc. We can then explain what to do with the tune calibration via the phone and demonstrate what we are talking about virtually as good as we were there with customer.
We have tuned numerous cars remotely while they are on the dyno.
Base Tunes can be purchased for $400 with 1hr of remote support specific to the tune. Extra hrs live are AU$150/hr. Forced Induction Base Tunes are extra. These base tunes are our best starting point for a good tune and are custom designed for each situation base on the information that is given. They are also the quickest way to learn how to tune the car really well.
The most popular base tunes are speed density (mafless) tunes on LS1s. We have trained numerous workshops how to do this properly so that fuel economy is optimized along with the extra smooth power delivery that is gained from a speed density tune.
Over the past 4 years since the release of the Gen IV/E38 we have developed a highly regarded specialty in tuning the new E38 ECMs which are used in the later model VE Commodores, Pontiac G8, Camaro and Corvettes. These are far more complex than LS1s and more mathematical to do well.
Oztrack Tuning has recently installed a state of the art Nitrous system on the Clubsport. The kit is designed to give unprecedented consistency for Nitrous power adding. It is great for 'dial your own racing' since launch power can be programmed by a digital progressive controller and nitrous bottle pressure is regulated before and during the run in a very innovative way.
Various stages of the package are available. The top level is the DYO Racers package. But the kits can be trimmed down in components which are easily upgraded later to include all the extras.
The Oztrack Clubsport gained about 0.4s/4mph by using a 60 shot in running 11.123/121mph recently and then tested a 100 shot by launching in 2nd gear, the car ran 10.975/123.22mph. It could have run around 10.82/125mp which would be a gain of 0.65s/8mph if it had launched in 1st. This was on the systems first outing. A car with a standard cam would gain a heap more in ET and MPH due to the fact that the car will be massively improved off the line. My clubsport is launching with NOS only activating fully at 5000rpm which is when the car was doing 20kph. In 2nd gear the car still launched with a 1.569 60 footer.
If you have a 3000rpm stall it will act like a much bigger stall when using nitrous. My 4400rpm stall usually comes down to 550rpm on the 2-3 change with a 100 shot this became 5850rpm.
A stock cammed LS1 auto with 3.07 gears and some good drag radials running near 13.0s would probably be able to break into the high 11s with a 100hp shot.

Modifying a VT-VZ LS1
The suggested modifications depend on what the customer wants from the car and also depends on the model of the car.
Exhaust system The first step for many owners is to get the car sounding more like a V8 should. Any catback that sounds the way you want will provide gains in performance. For a good sound aim for a larger rear resonator that is straight through and of you want more volume use smaller centre mufflers. Many people remove the resonator but most of the time they end up with drone. A twin 2"1/2 system will work well. Upgraded cats will also help and better performance and sound can come from Metal substrate cats with the added bonus that they are less fragile. Many ceramic cats will die just from one hit on a speed hump.
Extractors I favor the sound from 1"3/4 4 into 1s with long tubes and a large collector. The short tube 4 into 1s often introduce drone into the sound and probably dont perform near as well. The large long tube 4 into 1s often have a "beat" sound like an old school V8 and this is evidence of good scavenging happening. The other good alternative is Tri-Ys with 1"5/8 primaries and in long tubes as well. Cars with higher hp goals could also use 1"7/8 4 into 1 - long tubes.
Air Intake There are numerous brands of over radiator intakes on the market, all of them provide gains in performance. This is due to them posing less of a restriction to the intake system and providing volumes of cold air via a more direct route. Oztrack Tuning sells 2 varieties of intake.
Throttle Body Minor porting of the stock throttle body can give increased power and crisper throttle response. This can be done for as little as $150 on an exchange basis. Other aftermarket TB in the 80mm range can be fitted with spacers to suit, the stock intake manifold is designed to suit a 75-78mm TB so going with a 90mm is not going to help. The good 800mm TB will give a few more kw over the stock TB and will help more when the car needs more air i.e. it has a cam, heads etc.
PCM Tune On most models the pcm tune will make the biggest difference of all the activities this is regardless of what modifications have already been done. Some cars only change is a tune and they perform far better than with the stock tune.
Camshaft Many aftermarket cams are available that can totally change the power spread of the engine and the personality of the car. Some small cams are available that drastically change the low rpm power and improve economy over the stock cam without any loss of idle quality. The other extreme are cams that give a big increase in power at 6000+ and have a race car like idle with a loss of fuel economy. The trick is choosing carefully and getting all the parts that match well with the cam. It also means pre-planning your cam possibilities when fitting exhaust, TB, etc. It is possible to get over 280rwkw (M6) from a mild cam package that could still have better overall economy than stock. Usually people take the opportunity to fit a 25% underdriven balancer at the same time since the stock one has to come off to fit the cam - these also gain a little more power maybe in the vicinity of 7rwkw.
Heads Improved heads can provide gains in torque right through the range and even an increase in fuel economy. The most economical thing is to get hand ported ls1 heads and have the compression ration bumped up to near 11.0:1 (similar to a stock LS2). This will give a good gain. If you want more then you can choose from a large range of CNC Ported Heads. It is possible to get over 300rwkw (M6) from a mild cam and heads package that could still have better overall economy than stock.
Forced Induction. There are many options for LS1s regarding Forced Induction. Some of the cheaper supercharged systems struggle to outperform mild cam/heads packages. But better larger systems can easily work well. Turbo systems are common to generate in the high 300rwkw area even when using engine with stock internals. The LS1 is a surprizingly durable engine and copes with forced induction very well.
